3 Komplimente, die dein Kind nie vergessen wird! 3 Komplimente, die dein Kind nie vergessen wird!

There are words that stay with us for a lifetime. They aren't seared into our minds because they were said particularly loudly or often, but because they reached us at an important moment – exactly when we needed them.
As a mom and a psychologist, I know: Children are like little collectors – they don't just carry memories of experiences, but also of feelings associated with specific words.
And sometimes, a single sentence can make the difference between "I don't know if I can do this" and "I'll try one more time."

Today, I would like to introduce you to three compliments your child will likely never forget – and tell you why they are so powerful.

1. "I believe in you."

I remember well the day my son wanted to climb the big climbing tower in the park all by himself for the first time. He stood at the bottom, hands gripped tightly around the first rung, and looked up as if he had just decided to climb Mount Everest, haha.
His gaze wandered to me – questioning, uncertain. And in that moment, I didn't say: "Be careful, that's dangerous" or "Can you do that?". Instead, I took a deep breath, smiled, and said: "I believe in you. You can do it!"

Of course, I didn't know with absolute certainty that he would succeed, and I also stood very close to catch him in case he slipped. But he started climbing. All on his own to the top and back down, and he was mega proud afterward!

From a psychological perspective, this sentence strengthens self-efficacy. This is the trust in one's own ability to master challenges independently. It conveys: "I trust that you can handle this." And that has a lasting impact.

2. "I am proud of you – not just for what you do, but for who you are."

A few weeks ago, my son came home from school and told me that during recess, he had helped a classmate who had fallen and gotten hurt. He stayed with him until the teacher arrived, even missing part of his own playtime to do so.
I looked at him and said: "I am proud of you – not just because you 'achieved' something great today, but because you are such a compassionate, helpful person."

This compliment shows children that it’s not just about grades, medals, or certificates. It says: "Your character, your values, your heart – all of that makes you something very special."
This strengthens their self-worth and anchors the thought: "I am valuable just as I am – regardless of what I achieve."

3. "I love spending time with you."

A very powerful sentence! We often think our children know that we love them. But believe me, it makes a huge difference when you say it out loud.
On a rainy Sunday afternoon, we were sitting together in his playhouse, a blanket over us, reading and acting silly. At one point, I looked at him and said: "You know what? This was really lovely! I love spending time with you."

His face changed so much – surprised, happy, a little bit shy.
This sentence gives children the feeling that they are not just accepted, but truly wanted. It shows: "I enjoy you just as you are, without you having to achieve anything."
This strengthens bonding, trust, and the feeling of being welcome – and these are pillars of healthy emotional development.

Why are these specific compliments so powerful?

All three sentences have one thing in common: They go beyond superficial praise. They don't just confirm a specific performance, but empower the personality. They say: "You are capable. You are valuable. You are lovable."
And these messages often accompany children into adulthood – like an inner compass that shows them the way even during difficult times.

LIONHERZ stands exactly for this message: Making children strong, giving them courage, and showing them how valuable they are. Whether through our products, shared play moments, or simply through words – we want every child to feel: "You are unique. You are strong. You are loved."

Because in the end, it is exactly these small moments that make a big difference in the hearts of our children 💛

With love,

your Martina from LIONHERZ
